Poker Variants Available at mmk2
Because each variant plays differently, every player can choose the type of Poker they enjoy most
Texas Hold'em
The most widely played Poker variant among players worldwide. Each player is dealt 2 hole cards and combines them with 5 community cards to make the best possible hand.
Omaha
Similar to Texas Hold'em, but each player receives 4 hole cards and must use exactly 2 of them to make a hand — so more strategic thinking is required.
Live Poker
Play in real time against a live dealer via live stream. Experience a real casino broadcast from the comfort of your seat.
Poker Tournament
Players buy in with a set stake and compete until one champion takes the prize. Strategy is key, and prize pools can be substantial.
Short Deck Poker
Low cards are removed from the deck, so strong hands come up more often — making this a fast, aggressive game.
Video Poker
A solo heads-up format with high variance and no time limit, making it ideal for practising strategy.
Poker Hand Rankings
Playing without knowing the hand rankings raises your chances of losing — memorise these rankings
| Hand | Description |
|---|---|
| Royal Flush | A, K, Q, J, 10 — all of the same suit |
| Straight Flush | 5 consecutive cards — all of the same suit |
| Four of a Kind | 4 cards of the same rank |
| Full House | Three of a Kind + One Pair |
| Flush | 5 cards of the same suit |
| Straight | 5 consecutive cards — mixed suits |
| Three of a Kind | 3 cards of the same rank |
| Two Pair | Two pairs |
| One Pair | One pair |
| High Card | Highest single card only |
Strategies for Winning at Poker
Here are some strategies used by experienced players
Starting Hand Selection
Deciding which hands to play is the foundation of good Poker strategy. By sticking to strong starting hands like AA, KK, QQ, and AK, you lower the risk of losing.
Understanding Position
The player seated after the dealer button acts last, which allows for better-informed decisions. Always look to play from a late position.
Calculating Pot Odds
Compare the size of the pot to the amount you need to call, then decide whether to continue. Understanding pot odds helps protect you from losing money over the long run.
Using Bluffs in Moderation
Bluffing is an essential part of Poker, but overdoing it is not recommended. Study your opponent's patterns and only bluff at the right moment.
Managing Your Bankroll
Put no more than 5% of your bankroll into a single session. Only play with money you can afford to lose, and never use your living expenses.
